Montessori School Financial Aid
The
Financial Aid Program at GMS is a need-based
program which makes financial aid grants on a yearly basis to families
with children
enrolled in the Toddler through Middle
School programs. Grants must be applied for separately each year.
Families interested in being considered for financial aid should
contact the Admission
Office in January
to obtain an application from the office, including
a "Family Guide to Financial Aid" brochure and a Parents’ Financial
Statement form. The application is reviewed and processed by School and Student
Service for Financial Aid or "SSS" which is sponsored by the National
Association for Independent Schools (NAIS).
SSS will
use the information provided to determine an Estimated Family Contribution for
education.
Factors considered
in the process include family income and expenses, assets and indebtedness, family
size, age of parents, and number of children attending tuition charging schools.
Applications
require 2-3 weeks for processing and results will be mailed directly to GMS.
Based on the report provided
by SSS
and the resources available at the school, the GMS Financial Aid Committee will
make final determinations about individual financial aid awards. Financial Aid
must be applied for annually.
Consult the Admission Office in January to learn about
processing deadlines. Final decisions about Financial Aid grants will be made
by the Head of School and Financial Aid Committee.
