Dear valued supporter of The Greensboro Montessori School:
We truly appreciate your donation to our school. Your support is critical to us in order to continue offering the finest quality education and experience for your child's learning and developmental environment. As always, your support is tax deductible as GMS is a 501C non-profit organization.
Thank you again for your support!
The Greensboro Montessori School will accept in-kind donations all during the year. Commonly donated items include gently used computers, classroom materials and supplies, and professional expertise. If you are interested in donating items to the School, please contact the Director of Operations, Heather Goggin.
Gifts of Securities
Gifts of appreciated securities provide significant tax savings for the donor by avoiding capital gains tax. Such gifts are also tax deductible at the fair market value on the date of the gift. To avoid paying tax on the profit, you must give the security itself, rather than selling it first, then giving the proceeds. Electronic transfer is the most common way of transferring a gift of securities to the Greensboro Montessori School. Stocks are welcome, and we will be glad to discuss extended payment options with you. Please forward Matching Gift paperwork from your employer to the Director of Operations and we'll do the rest!
Naming and Sponsorship
Donors who wish to inquire about available naming opportunities or sponsorships for enrichment activities should contact the Head of School or the Director of Operations, Heather Goggin.

Like all independent schools, GMS relies on tuition as it’s main source of revenue. However, tuition only provides approximately 95% of the cost of each child’s education, and the funding raised during Phase I of our Vision 2020 Campaign is a critical part of our non-profit framework and helps to bridge the gap between our fixed income and operating expenses, in addition to funding much needed updates to our facility, financial aid, resources for our environmental education programs, student enrichment programs and professional development for our faculty and staff. Last year, your gifts to the GMS Annual Fund and Vision 2020 Campaign helped to provide need-based financial aid, purchase of 60 iPads for our elementary and middle school students, provide for a new community shelter at the Land Lab, classroom materials to support math and science work, in addition to professional development for our outstanding faculty and staff.
It is our goal to have 100% participation from the entire GMS community in our Vision 2020 Campaign. Strong community participation is viewed as an excellent indicator of our loyalty to GMS and our future success. A high participation rate provides important leverage as we strive to seek outside funding from corporate sponsors and when we apply for grants from private foundations. Your participation really does make a difference, no matter what the amount, large or small. We understand that these are difficult times for everyone and greatly appreciate everything you do to support our school through your financial gifts, your time and expertise and your belief in the Montessori way. Your gift to the Vision 2020 Campaign will help insure that GMS will continue to provide an unsurpassed Montessori education, nurturing a love of learning and inspiring tomorrow’s global citizens for generations to come.
