Betsy Bevan lives a highly creative life, composing, performing, painting, writing and facilitating young people in the joy of music making. She joined the GMS staff in summer 2007 when she came on board to teach music in our summer program and since that time has progressed to leading our world music curriculum for Elementary and Primary students. Betsy is also an award winning composer and a self-taught artist. She has a private music studio where she teaches piano, composition, and African drumming, and an art studio where she works as an illustrator on various collaborative projects. She has composed and produced 3 music albums and is working on a 4th, has written a book and several children's poem stories. She grew up in New England, lived in upstate New York for several years where she earned an advanced degree in composition from Eastman School of Music and later a K-12 certification in music education from Nazareth College.
