Annual Giving Campaign & Fundraising at GMS

The Greensboro Montessori School is a non-profit organization. We are always seeking alternative, non-tuition based forms of funding, and are always grateful for contributions of time and money. The school hosts special events, applies for grants, and conducts a variety of other fundraisers throughout the year, from the Annual Giving Campaign (our largest fund drive each year) to PTC-sponsored sales to individual classroom, division, and student-organized fundraisers that help defer the cost of field trips. Communications, community building and fundraising are all important components of our school's development efforts. Anyone interested in being a part of the development of the school, should contact the Director of Development, Kerry Meyers .

Community Service

We believe that it is vital for our students to understand the needs of others and their responsibility in contributing to the greater good of society, therefore we encourage their participation in community service projects. Periodically, our students will raise funds or collect items to donate to local causes. In the past, such efforts have supported local public schools, the Humane Society, diabetes research, and Gateway Education Center.

School Community Events

Every school year, we host a special event in the spring that, in addition to building school community, assists in providing additional monies in support of special projects and the operating budget. Please stay tuned for information about our spring 2008 event!

Endowment

The
Greensboro Montessori School is very proud to announce that we have established our first endowment. An endowment is important to the school because it provides a strong long term financial plan so that the interest can be used as operating income which in turn, can support the school's budget and eventually help manage tuition increases.

In-Kind Donations

The
Greensboro Montessori School will accept in-kind donations all during the year. Commonly donated items include gently used computers, classroom materials and supplies, and professional expertise.

Naming and Sponsorship

Donors who wish to inquire about available naming opportunities or sponsorships for enrichment activities should contact the Head of School or the Director of Development.

Ways and Means of Giving

The Greensboro Montessori School is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization and all donations are tax deductible to the extent provided by law. Gifts of cash or stocks are welcome, and we will be glad to discuss extended payment options with you. Please forward Matching Gift paperwork from your employer to the Director of Development and we'll do the rest!
