Primary Simmers with
Stone Soup
The Primary division recognizes and builds community with Stone Soup Celebration.

How do you build community? Why, you make some soup of course.

On Tuesday, November 22, GMS Primary classes celebrated their own individual communities over a steamy bowl of Stone Soup.

Based on a story the students read, Stone Soup by Jon J Muth, each class created a delightful, simmering pot of Stone Soup.

The story tells a tale of a village that has fallen upon hard times. It becomes apparent that the solution is in the commnity itself and the participation of everyone over something as simple as a pot of soup. The final feast over the large pot eases everyone's fears and brings peace and harmony back to the village.

The Stone Soup Celebration is an annual event. The story & celebration is supportive of the GMS school-wide Peace Curriculum. It also reinforces structuring healthy communities among all people from Montessori classrooms to whole nations.
