The NASCAR of Reading; 4,000 Books in 2 Hours
GMS 3rd Graders Participate in Read-With-Me-Thon '05.
Story by MS Student PR Staff Writer: Jennifer Tolin
On Thursday, October 12, 2005 the GMS 3rd levels went to Hampton Leadership Academy to listen to Pre K-5th graders read. Their goal for this year’s Read-With-Me-Thon is to read 4,000 books in 2 hours. Every person in every classroom that can read had a goal to read as many books as they can in two hours. The younger children read to the GMS 3rd levels out loud, and the older children read to themselves. They read from every genre, but they mostly read short books, so they could get their goal.
